FYI - My wife got "bumped" from behind in her 3 series by another car - the other car's license plate put two small holes in her rear bumper from the screws. The shop said that with any bumper perforations, bumper replacement is preferred because the bumper can flex and any fix may not hold permanently. The insurance company did pay for a new bumper, so it would seem this is a recognized issue. Hope this helps.

I removed the front backet, since with temporary tag ony the front is required. When the real tags come in, I may have to put the bracket and new plate on.

Removing the braket does leave two little screw holes, but IMO it looks better than an empty bracket or one with a dealer tag and logo on it.
