Had the opportunity to test drive an 02 SMG yesterday. Its funny but I had to convince the salesman that a launch control actually exists.
After a little arm twisitng he reluctanlty allowed me to demonstrate.
In a nutshell, the rev limit of the North American M3 in launch control mode is way slower than a simple mashing of the throttle at S6. Has anyone heard of the results with the Euro launch (3500 rpm)?
Any other thoughts?
Secondly, just wondering how long before people become proficient at operating the SMG?

and why you don't want a "demo". Nice.

You could have found out the same information here and not abused a car that hasn't been broken in yet.

you are DEFINITELY faster as if you just floor it in S6 !!

It's a very drastic toy !

i asked and it was permitted, however, why wouldnt you want to try it. It seems to me that it is a very significant feature so I tried it. As well as the brakes, handling, automatic mode, stereo, rear seats etc. This car is 73K + in Canada. Believe me, it doesnt fell like half the torture that a plain DSC off launch is.
