Just wanted to know. I ordered in Virginia, because I was going to take a job there. That did not work, and so now I am going to Dallas.

So now, I want to know which dealer is the best when I get there. I will have to drive it to Texas, and I recognize that the dealer will not give me preferential treatment, but at least they will fix whatever issues might arise.

Any help is appreciated.

The 2 Dallas dealers suck a$$ (John Roberts and Classic).

What makes them so bad? I got no problem trekking to find good service. Within reason of course.

I could write a novel about all the times I've had bad experiences at John Roberts and Classic. Lets just say that even if it's free service I don't trust either dealership to complete the work correctly/satisfactorily. That doesn't mean Autobahn and Moritz are perfect and don't make mistakes, but at least they can admit it and remedy it satisfactorily. I work walking distance from John Roberts, yet I still drive 35 miles to have my car serviced at Autobahn.

BTW: I've never used Moritz for service, but I have a couple friends that swear by them.

I have serviced all my cars at Moritz in Arlington since '95. Good service department.

I live about 40 mi. from Moritz and have to drive past the 2 Dallas dealers to get there. I bought my E36 M3 at Moritz and had excellent experiences with the service department over the 6-years that I owned the car. I bought my 2002 in El Paso, and since I have no access to loaner cars at Moritz, it is not worth the drive and hassle to go there anymore. I am now getting my service done at Classic because they are closer to my home and office, and they seem to be doing a good job - a vast improvement over my first experience there. The service advisor and techs are knowledgable and hey - they put the right oil and diffy fluid in at my 1200 mi. service!

It will take time to have the same confidence that I had at Moritz, and Classic is a much busier dealership so the personal relationship will take longer to develop too. So far, from my standpoint they are doing OK.

Well, not that much. Basically, the car will be here in the 3rd week of July, and I start work the last week, as it now stands.

What kind of travel times will it be from downtown Dallas or Park cities area to Arlington?

I have to go find a place now, and these are the two areas I'm leaning towards. Having not seen anything yet, it's just a very big guess.

From Downtown (not rushhour) it will take about 20 minutes to get to Moritz, 30 to get to Autobahn.

Thank you gentlefolk.

It sounds like the John Roberts shop is not too sweet. I got thumbs up on the Autobahn and Moritz shops, and a maybe (one up, one down) on Classic.

I thought I was going to have more time to sort through all of this stuff, but the pace has definitely accelerated.

I appreciate the help.
