The one that was completely modified? The one that you said wasn't even close to being streetable? I bet the E46 M3 was slower than a NASCAR car, too. What do those start life as? A Chevy Lumina or something?

was lightened and not streetable, no windows, lexan, etc, etc. Hell, his doors were just skins.

makes ALL the difference as you know more than most of us.

How was the event? RA is such a great track, what were your lap times?

That car is also on DOT tires.
Is anyone's racecar faster now than the 3rd day after it was put together? I think we need to give the guys some credit for busting their [Oops!] to put it together. It is a cool car.
It always takes a little time. I think the goal of just not having anything fall off the car was accomplished.

weighs MORE than your ALSO lightened E36. What is the power to weight ratio for the two cars? The point is not that the E36 isnt fast, but come on now...your E36 isnt exactly stock. You've done about everything possible to it, except for drop it on your E46, which may be next.

drivers go off? Was the track slick? Or were people just trying to get after it more than they should have? i.e. braggin rights?

you want to...I cant let you get away with it. ;)

Congrats on your win and on returning home safely. You should mod your E46 and show John what it can do!

I ran there again this weekend. Was able to run a 1:44 - just about a second slower than Seth on avg. I was impressed I was able to keep him in site - especially after what he did to us in our E46 PIGS last time...

I had -2.0 degrees camber up front and 1/8 inch toe out on my Michelin Pilot Sport Cups..

your car?

bad turn. Road America has concrete lining EVERYWHERE and is MUCH faster. Three straights where you hit 150+ and have to stop to nothing while stareing at concrete in your face. Lot's of brake failure problems. The Kind is a 100mph + turn with concrete lining...if you lift, you bounce between two walls.
I love the track, but it has claimed MANY, MANY lives.

there are a few corners where you need to make sure everything is lined up correctly. I wouldnt want to loose it in 11 or 13. Those are the worst IMO, well worst for crashing.

my car will max out at 154mph in 5th gear. I hit the rev limiter on every lap going into the kink in 4th gear at 123mph.

I know you're just having fun playing troll, but for those reading along, what UMP has just proven is that when you compare a car with several years of development time and driver familiarization, it (gasp) tends to be faster than a brand new car with a driver that's just learning how it works.

...or something. I saw the in-car footage of Memo Gidley's Champ Car crash last year. The walls have no tires, not even Armco, just concrete.
