Alright well I was gonna take my car in last week after I heard this while driving in traffic. Tonight I heard it again, probably because it was late and really quiet on the road. But when im in 1st gear at about 2200 to 2500 RPMS... their is a noticable sqeeky/whiny noise comign from directy under me, or right in front of me. I couldnt figure it out? Is this maybe just a drivetrain noise or what? Any sggestions

My car does something like this. At low speeds, first or second gear, there's this almost musical tone coming from under the car. Weird. Something in the driveline, for sure. I've heard that some E36 M3s had a similar problem, and would get the differential replaced under warranty if it was bad enough. As long as it doesn't get any louder, my noise doesn't seem like anything to worry about.
