Is this the same railway system as your earlier posting, do you think?

E38brit's earlier subway photo had similar triangular handholds, and I thought we might be able to figure out which systems used the same car mfr as in Tokyo's system, and narrow down the identity of the earlier photo from there.

OR, I could do something productive with my time. :)

The train looks right and I believe that shopping bag is from a popular department store... I can't recall (& my Kanji sucks), but it's one in Tokyo...

My favorite part is the guy sleeping on the person next to him. It's particular to Japan, but there when someone falls asleep on the train they slump onto their neighbor regardless of whether they know them or not. It's not considered rude. When I questioned my Japanese friends the normal answer is that you feel sorry for the person since they work so hard and therefore are so tired. My thoughts -- drool on someone else!! I took the subway in Chicago for two years and took the suburban commuter train for 5 or 6 years and slept all the time -- I never saw people sleeping on each other and never did it myself. I swear it's genetic! LOL!

Where's the other picture you're talking about?<br>

Unfortunately we have the oldest underground system in the world - during rush hour it gets extremely busy and dangerous. They could do with employing people to push passengers on trains like they do in Japan - unfortunately due to the short-tempered nature of many people here there would be too many fights! I worked in the heart of London for 5 years and in the end decided that I couldn't hack it any more and a change of lifestyle was needed - so I got a job a few miles out so I could drive to work rather than have to take a train.

This is the original pic that we were referring to - I've no idea where the picture was taken but I think it's somewhere in the US.

I can confirm it's definitely NOT in the UK.
