My Turbocharged 650HP+ Chevy V-8 914 can turn under 10 seconds as a street car and has been under 9 seconds when set up for the track. Top end is near 170mph. Not bad for 10% of cost of a Ferrari!!!

what transmition do you have? And, how do you reinforce the drivetrain to handle that kind of power?

Can email picture's. Reply to As for transmission it will depend upon HorsePower-the standard 914 can handle upto 300H.P., but with a V-8 the first gear is not used. As you go up in power you can use the same 'housing' but start thinking 911 Turbo gears and a few other tricks.

Is the body on this 914 a Chalon kit?

Yes, the only modifications are to the front 'bonnet' which has large louvers for radiator and the rear engine lid which is vented above the carb for more air intake at the turbo pick up.
