Guys:

Can anyone tell me why i get a slip/hop feeling from the clutch pedal sometimes when I'm easing out in 1st? Could it be time to replace the clutch, or is it something else? I don't see an increase in revving from the motor. I've also had something similar happen under hard acceleration in 2nd gear, but I would just feel it in the seat of the pants.

Also the motor seems to bog on hard acceleration sometimes. Kinda like its in one gear too high (but is actually above 3000 rpms). This usually happens in 3rd. This definitely didn't happen before. Any ideas?

At the track, you tend to run in just 2 or 3 gears, with a few shifts per lap, no clutch slippage of any kind. It's easier per mile on the clutch than stop and go traffic.

Now playing boy drag racer at the local stoplight on the street - that's hard on the clutch.

Why did you want to know about track in relation to a question of clutch wear? Trips to the drag strip I could understand, but track?

It was supposed to be a running fix and not an issue anymore. But as you can see in this post cars after the fix still have the problem.

There is no mention of slippage in this post. But I had a 325i that did the same thing and when the clutch would pop it would slip ever so slightly.

Hope this helps
