I have looked thru all of the BMW colors on the BMW website and I can not find the color of an M3 I saw on my local dealer's lot when the car first came out.

It was a dark, very dark, blue. Darker than the current Orient Blue one can get on a 3 series. But it did not look like the Black Sapphire or Carbon Black.

Was it the lighting that day in the sun that made the Carbon black look blue? Is this a color only on 2002's and not '03's? Was it a special order?

If anyone has pictures of this color showing its difference with black or other blues, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance<br>- Phester

Here is a close up of CB in direct sun - shows lots of blue flakes. Can look completely black in other lighting.

I expected black and saw dark blue

if you walked around the car. CB never looks blue from all angles. The light and view angle have to be right to bring out the stunning blue look, it otherwise looks like muddy black.
