After my times yesterday (5.01s 0-60, 1/4 in 13.45 at 108mph) I went back out today to see if I could improve the SMG launch.

Thanks to the method Jim suggested (stamp on the gas, back off slightly until the wheels hook up, then back on) I was able to improve the 0-60 time to 4.91s. There's definitely more room for improvement too, but I'm going to let the car rest for a good while before I give it any more abuse!

The setup was DSC off, S5, Pilot Sports, 75 degrees temp.

The shifts in S6 are noticeably faster -- much closer to a \"power shift\" with a clutch. S6 should trim some time, shouldn\'t it?

10/01 Jet Black SMG coupe, New Jersey, exit 50B

I was feeling a bit guilty for the stresses I was putting on the car, so decided not to use LC, and also never put it into S6. I haven't really noticed much difference between S5 and S6, but I haven't used it that much either (almost always leave DSC on).

I've also heard better times by using LC but letting go of the shift lever to launch as you pressing down on the pedal, but before the car spools up to 1800 rpm. You should lots less wheel spinning off the line.

A couple of weeks ago (after resetting the SMG because of some clutch slippage), I tried 2 full throttle shifts near the redline in S6. Holy crap! Big difference. Almost no pause at the shift.

10/01 Jet Black SMG coupe, New Jersey, exit 50B
