The lesson has been learned and they do not replace the drive pulley on the E46 M3. They underdrive the power steering pump, alternator and A/C. The felt effect will be ~6 HP at the rear wheels and noticeably tighter steering.

The alternator will still put out enough to power the needs of a car in stock form. There is a separate alternator pulley that can be installed on cars with excessively high power needs, such as an aftermarket audio system.<br><font color=#65625E><font size=2>
That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
