40,000. The article states that the 630Ci will start at 40,000, so expect the 630 to cost around the price of the current 540 (not including the yearly price increases) That's going to be alot for just the 6 cylinder, yipes

would be having to run the wiring harness for the window lift and mirrors through a *long* rubber tube on the rear/upper part of the door. Look at the pic with the door up and you see something in white in that area...possibly the wiring harness and rubber tube/boot that I'm talking about. You need a much longer span for a gullwing door than conventional door. Then when you close it, where does all that extra tube/harness go?

Very cool, but not as practical/reliable as a conventional door. I'm far from an expert on the MB 300SL gullwing of the 50's but I think they had manual windows/mirrors so it wasn't a consideration/limitation as it would be here.

BTW, love those E24's...one of my all-time favorite cars.
