What a bunch of cry babys. My Subject line didn't give the result away. I posted it 12 hours after the race was over, if you didn't have time to watch it by then, then why the hell do you have time to surf the internet? Besides on a Sunday there's hardly anything interesting on this board?
When am I allowed to share this great result with (What I thought were) some fellow BMW enthusiasts? I'm no newby on this board so why don't you loosers go stick your tivo were the sun dosn't shine!

I know, sorry! I just happend to log on and saw a bunch of post about how I ruined it for SOME. It just pi$$ed me off because I waited, what I thought long enough, before I posted it and I still DIDN"T give everything away in the subject line.....just in case. If the cry babys were so called F1 enthusiasts then they should have watched the race by then or nor click on the suject.

That's why I said it wasn't such a big deal but people here get a little uptight with these things. I've learned that if I don't want to know the results of anything involving sports, I stay away from all forms of media, including the board.

as I was or may have had commitments that could not be broken for the eraly morning broadcast of the race?
might be an alien concept but many events are scheduled early on sunday mornings and tend to take up all day.
did it really make you feel that much better to post your post here rather than the motorsports board - could not have waited a half an hour till the rebroadcast was over? as much better as whining about getting slapped around a bit is making you now?

I know it bothers you Mike, but it's also a fact that not everyone pays attention to the rebroadcast times on Speed and may not even be aware that people place so much interest on these kinds of things. I'm not saying you're wrong and norm///3 is right, nor am I saying you're right and he's wrong. Hey, it's a learning curve around here. Trust me..I had a similar experience a while back..ask Medina..LOL.

But I didn't give away anything in the subject line for the record =)

Go screw yourself. In my case, and I'm sure with others, you tape the race because you're away from home. Internet access is much more easily accessed remotely than your home VCR/Tivo.

In the grand scheme of things, of course it doesn't matter.

To be honest, it didn't bother me a whole lot, but each time it happens, if it is noted by others on the board, maybe it will happen less, thus my post.

Your most recent post is truly infantile, however. You're "excuses" are pretty piss poor. As I stated lots of people have remote internet access, but I don't know of anyone that has remote Tivo access. Many of us are greater than 12 hours away from home. This board is active EVERY day, INCLUDING Sundays. Your comments are lame, not to mention your grammer and spelling.
You're right - by and large, this board represents a bunch of M3 enthusiasts. This fact has nothing to do with the fact that you spoiled the result for many of us.

Your post was really not a big deal. Your most recent post, however, stinks. Insulting members of this board stinks. I don't want to get into a $hit slinging match with anyone, but gimme a break, your last post, especially, was uncalled for.

if you have diarrhea of the keyboard and just can't live without posting how you feel about the kind of day Williams, etc. had just don't say anything resembling results in the subject line and post away... Adding "Spoiler" helps as well - no one is making rules here (Alan excluded) but just asking for some curtesy.

I DO actually know how to spell this word. Honestly.
I just finished speaking to a consultant with the surname Grammer, who was boring the [Oops!] off me, so I was doodling her name on my scratch pad while listening to her wonderful plans for a lecture on gastroenterology (I think it basically amounts to a talk on getting the $hits from environmental causes - yeeh"). Weird, huh? Must've had her name on my brain.

race to stay away from this board until they seen it? Besides, for the xxxxed time...,I didn't give the race away....my subject line said "great day for Williams in F1". That still leaves a lot open. If I wanted to ruin it for everybody I would have written Williams finished 1-2. Some people just look for something to [Oops!].

marauder
06-30-2003, 03:41 PM
a) Is "no spoilers" such a hard favor to ask from people? You sound like you're being asked to sell your soul. You can write exactly the same thing as you wanted to write before, just be careful about what you write in the subject line. "F1 Spoilers" would be sufficient. Is your excitement that much dampened?

b) If you can't wait to spill the beans in the subject line, is it so hard to post in the appropriate forum? There's a whole forum dedicated to discussing Formula 1 and other motor sports and you can actually post spoilers in the subject line to your heart's content.

c) You say that people are just looking for something to whine about, but then you start a whole new thread after it's over just to insult everyone.

You didn't give the whole race away, but a good day for BMW was NOT what I was expecting at all. I was expecting Kimi, Schumi, and Barrichello to finish, in that order. I don't need to hear ANYTHING about the race beforehand.

I agree that people should try to stay off of the forums, but you only need to a little bit to save a lot of people a lot of frustration. Tell me why it's hard to redo the subject line.
---

You're absolutley right, but I didn't say I wasn't going to stop posting results,..... from now on.
I WAS aware of the unwritten rule and thus (like I said before) waited over 12 hours to post it, AND didn't give the whole race away. Yes, my subject line hinted what direction the race was going, but really, did that not make it worth watching anymore? Also, I wasn't aware of the motorsport forum, which I am now.
I appolagize for my 2nd post, but I never replied to any of the shots that were taken at me and was just a little ticked to read all of it the day after.

BOTTOM LINE is that you will never be sure that somebody wont post the results, as this board always gets new members, so the smart thing to do is not go on any message board IF it means that much to you, which BTW a lot of people agree with.

F1 results? Ok, people make mistakes, big deal ... apologize, now you know better, and hopefully other people will learn, too. But your attitude has been less than becoming, and that's what's annoying more than anything else. I've seen all kinds of reactions on both sides. Most of the time, it's a "sorry, wont' happen again." It's only when people insist that they're right, everyone else is wrong, and then start insulting people that it becomes a problem. I agree that some people came down hard on you, but it could have been quickly nipped in the bud with a sensible reply from you.

Let's just agree to drop the issue. You (and anybody else reading this!) try to curb your posts and all F1 fans try to keep off the forums before they've finished watching the race.
---

OK, agreed. I can hang with that, just get guys like mike_m3 to do the same, cause he continues with useless shots.

Interesting side note. I really thought after a great result, Bimmer guys on this board would be more excited about it. If you look at the # of replies with racing content vs. the # of replies to just complain about me spoiling it, makes me really wonder how much they care, which is what I meant with people just like to complain. Live and learn. I'll share my F1 issues with the F1 boards exclusively form now on. Happy MMMMotoring
