You had said this..........................
"Will you stop posting that Dinosaur!! (nt) - Tony 2003-07-20 21:16:18 (1 view)"

--------------------------
I will say THIS................
These new BMW's that are coming out do not SCREAM BMW.............
Back then, BMW's were an ORIGINAL design, you could tell from a mile away that it was a BMW and what series it was. Now the new series are becoming a mix of different designs, originality is becoming extinct with Bangle. Only true BMW enthusiasts can really appreciate the older models like DaniCompain's nice example of an american classic 6. Have you ever driven an older model like a '02, E9 3.0cs, E24 6? Driving such older models really give an appreciation for the present BMW's and underlying design and soul that still lives with the present series. I cannot fully comment on the soul of the newer series that are to be released, the feeling i get from the pictures are empty. No longer do I feel the "fire" from BMW. Don't hack the older models, for they are the grandfathers of the new. If you have a newer BMW, you may appreciate it more if you drive the classics. Sometimes the older models are more of a pleasure to drive if they are properly cared for.

Nathan

Classic or not, it is still an old car. Cars today are getting better not worse. I'll choose a new car over an older car any day. Given the choice between the older 6 and the newer one, I'll pic the newer one every time. 18 year old cars do nothing for me except bring back memories (which isnít a bad thing). As far as looks are concerned the 6 series had it's time. Now it just looks like a relic.

Where do you think the Z8 came from. They were trying to be reminiscent of the past!
