i'm picking up my car (e46 m3) in a month and thinking about getting hre 448r charcoal ctr w/ polish lip. but then i read medina's post about the polish lip getting scratches? i believe you turn him to the bbs lm's. i had them on my 00 S4 which i sold a year ago. that wheel was a pain to clean. is hre's polish lip that hard to keep up or steve's a perfectionist?

shiny as without clear. If you don't get the lip clearcoated like steve's and most others, the lip is shiny but you will have to polish it every so often and it shows scratches since it is so reflective. Most people choose this route because you can always polish out the scratches. If you get clear coat, you cannot use polish on the lip. You should really ask steve about cleaning it, but I know he is happier now because the lip on the LMs is a lot easier to clean.<br>

no polishing...no fuss....

I picked up a set of microfiber gloves, it was one of those...buy $50 worth of stuff...we'll throw em in type deal....

these make the lm's so easy to clean...

the hre lip does take some maintenace....which is a double edged deal...on one hand....can be polished....but on the other hand...exposed to the elements can and will cloud up the lip...nature of the biz..

I'm not a perfectionist, takes me about an hour to wash the AW car, but then again white is so easy to clean...

But I'm much happier with the LM's and their clearcoated, machine finish.....i spend maybe 5 minutes cleaning all four wheels...completely clean...no left over dust or mess..that's how easy they are....

polishing the hre lip...took about 5 min per wheel....perhaps even more...even with microfiber...dust just micro scratched the surface....here on the coast....sand is everywhere..

pick up a set of these gloves...sweet stuff, especially for those mesh wheels....throw em in the wash for next time around..
