Strangest thing this morning. I walked to my car to find the right "kidney grill" on the ground. My first guess, someone must back into the front of the car. Upon further investigation, there is NOT a single scratch on the car. Found the silver "kidney grill" clips onto a black plastic frame. The black plastic frame notches have broken off.

Very confused, wonder if it will be coverd under warranty. Has this happen to anyone else?

I lost a side gill in a similar manner (it had not been fully seated at the factory, and blew off at speed during the cars first month on the road). BMW offered to sell me a replacement. To be fair - I can kinda understand. The car would have looked exactly the same (missing gill, no marks) if the gill had been stolen, or if I'd taken it off and sold it to someone.

Unless you can show failed clips or something else which points to a parts defect, BMW may push back and claim it's not warranty. FYI.

Happened to me to (side gill falling off). I told the dealer it fell off while driving (which I believe was true). Dealer replaced it under warranty with no hassle whatsoever.
