...first of all sorry for the bandwidth, (and I know that this is not for sale forum - I have the car in classifieds as well), but the time is of essence and I need some help of any bimmer friends.

I have 2004 M3 on order - should be here by the end of November or so. I was selling my babied e36 M3 and found a buyer (amongst a several other prospective ones) with 3 days who did not negotiate one $$ once he saw the car.

Unfortunately he now can not come through with the sale. (Long story, but his reasons are legitimate. Decent guy actually lives in my town).

The bottom line is that the sale looked so SURE, that I was dumb enough to tell all of the other potential buyers that the car was sold and even deleted their e-mails. In the meanwhile I wasted 2 1/2 weeks of time and my car is soon to be here.

Please help the future e46 M3 owner a spread the word around with your other BMW friends - maybe you or they know of someone who is looking for a good e 36 M3. I am sure this fine M3 will find another good home.

Ordered my 2004 on August 2nd, built on 9-12, shipped the week of
9-22, Delivery estimated on 10-14. Sometime in October, BMW lost it, and its no where to be found!!

Called BMA NA, sorry we have no way of tracking, you must call the dealer. Dealer said they are helpless, it's up to the VPC.

New scheduled delivery, sometime this year.

Can you believe

Had I known I would have bought an AMG

It's an easy way for them to make 2 sales on 1 car...They know you'll wait again, the only question is, will you wait at the same dealership. They already sold your car, they can afford to take the gamble on you.

You dealer should be able to give you a production number for your car. This production number should also have YOUR name associated with it.
You can call BMWNA with this number and they can tell you exactly where it is in the production / shipping cycle.

I'd bet you car was sold or dealt away by your dealer.

I'd consider doing business with someone else.

Yet no one has a straight answer, one day its on the boat, the boat has been delayed, its off the boat, it's having an oil change (that fron the customer service rep at BMWNA). I should have next Tuesday (two weeks ago) and so on.........

I have order 4 other BMW's since 96 and never had this problem

I already know what the next excuse will be "the customs department held it up"

Joe, what does the online tracking say? If it says at your dealer then they probably sold it out from under you. If it say at Vehicle Preparation Center then they may be repairing a problem or just have not shipped it yet, if it was given priority 2 (dealer stock) then it will be shipped after all the priority 1 (customer order cars are shipped) Good luck

Do they confirm that it landed at the VPC?

Even if it made it to the VPC, it can take 2-5 days to clear. Recently there was a hold-up at the VPC because they didn't have 04 manuals.

Then you have to wait for the truck transport another 2-3 days depending on distance.

My guess is the ship did get delayed.

either that or

(1) they sold the car (but you have a VIN and a sale will be logged)
(2) Ferris Bueller is having a great time ! (sorry, couldn't resist)
