Sometimes they know "friendly" garages. Otherwise, I know a lot of the tint shops do special deals to remove and replace the tints...they know it's part of their business.

other trouble

in a tricky situation

I moved from MIchigan to NJ for a temp position...NJ law requires me to change my license and plate to NJ .....so I did

NJ insurance is [Oops!]...and statefarm..wouldn't take any new customers even though I used them all my life in Michigna

talked to my agent in MI, and they said.since I am only living here temp...some multiple home status allows me to have michigan insurance and the car is insured in NJ.
on the insurance card it says MI insurance...w/ the insured vehicle..right vin..everyhitng and a NJ address..
went to the inspeciton station the other dya...everything went good beside the insurance card they bitched me about....I know they are stupid because just bought my wife a car in NJ ...w/ the same background...MI insruance ..NJ address and she had no problem.

anywa .just thought I should goto a private place that ppl know.....to get by this stupid NJ system.

thanks in advance

Your problem isn't inspection...it's a mismatch between registration and insurance.

If you have your vehicle registered in NJ, then you need to have NJ insurance, and a NJ inspection. If you are going to leave your insurance through Michigan, you shouldn't have NJ plates on your vehicle, and NJ inspection isn't an issue.

You need to get things straight, though, as you could have issues with having this mismatch with your insurance carrier. I would change the registration back to MI immediately. In other words, you are insuring an ineligible vehicle in Michigan, and in NJ you have an uninsured motor vehicle, technically speaking...neither of which is good.

State Farm is pulling out of the NJ market, by the way, which is why they wouldn't offer you a quote here.
