in place so i was just wondering if the top speed limiter was as forgiving as the rev limiter. BTW i have stock wheels and tires.<br>

Even with the limiter in place, most stock M3's will run into the 160's (including some allowance for optimistic speedo they still run more than 155).

You probably gain only 10 or 15 mph capability on the top end with the speed limiter removed, and it would take a tremendously long straight empty chunk of road to do much with that last bit of speed.

had two occassions to push it. last run I had a garmin GPS running. I saw 1667-167 on the speedo and the gps read 152. Still had a little more to go and backed off. I suspect you would see 170 on speedo before the limiter cuts in.

have since had new engine
