ok dumb question, can the term "double clutch" be used to describe rev matching and downshifting without actually clutching twice? i was having a conversation with a friend last night and that's what he said. i was under the impression that the term double clutching is only used when you literally clutch, shift to neutral, clutch, downshift (clutching twice). can anyone verify?

exactly that. Using the clutch twice for each downshift is double-clutching. While I'm at it, rev-matching alone can't be considered heel-and-toe. Heel-and-toe implies braking and then rev-matching at the end of braking.

I noticed and also someone else that your painted reflectors look a little too dark? Or is it just the lighting on that pic?

it was normal. pisses the hell out of me, but if i give it 2 coats of wax, then they'll match. i got the reflectors at bimmian.com. sux that they dont match, i'm thinking about just getting my original reflectors painted somewhere. any referals?

But then again, that's another $55 or so.

For a body shop, you could try having it painted at JMK BMW. It's in Springfield, NJ along Route 22. Their website says they're the only BMW-certified body shop in the tri-state. I don't know if that's just marketing hype or it really does mean something though since I don't have first hand experience with them.
