A friend test drove 6 first and then 8. He said if he hadn't driven the 8, the 6 would have been fine.

I drove both and bought the 8, however the 6 is also amazing especially in the 0-40 range. When that V8 hits about 35 mph it's like a rocket went off in the back !!

I drive dealer trades for a local Cadillac dealer and have driven many SRXs, 6 & 8. I was expecting the 6 to be underpowered but it actually is very adequate. However the Northstar V8 is easily the best choice, reasonable fuel economy and fun to drive.

I got my SRX V6 last year. I like the V6, not as flat as BMW engine in touque, but very capabaie. I installed the cold air intake and after market muffler, very smooth and have a strong pull over 3500 rpm (35 miles above).

The only complain about V6 is that comparing to my wife's bmw it is not flat torque.

Cheers

Dave
