It really takes away from the car, but is it needed? If not it will be the first thing to go.

I couldnt agree more. Ive spoken with my local stereo store and they said it could easily be replaced by what they described as an antenna strip. Essentially, a strip is attached to the inside of the rear window which receives the signal. He warned,however, that the reception may not be as good. Do I care? Not really. Id rather get shoddy service than look at that 1988 cell phone whip.

...they use the analog system with the large antenna to allow for maximum coverage.
