I NEED TO FIND OUT IF ANYONE ELSE HAS EVER EXPERIENCE EXTREMELY LOW VOLUME OF AIR WHEN THE A/C OR HEAT IS WORKING. BOTH SYSTEMS OPERATE PROPERLY BUT THERE BARELY ANY AIR COMING OUT OF THE VENTS. WHEN I TURN ON THE DEFROST IT BARELY SEEMS LIKE THERE IS AN AIR MOVING. MY '79 SUPER BEETLE CONVERTIBLE'S BLOWER HAS MORE VOLUME.

ANY ADVICE?

There is a fuse(a thin metal aluminum strip actually) OUTSIDE of the main fuse box. It has a little flip over plastic cover over it. Just this....I bet you a dime to a donut that the little strip is cracked. EXAMINE IT CLOSELY if it doesn't look obviously cracked. It may be a hair line and barely detectable

Replace the blower motor brushes! They're done!

Have an '88 300TE and have a problem getting the center vents to work. Seems when A/C is selected it likes to go up to the defrost which causes the windshield to collect an abundance of condensation to the point the wipers are required. The mechanic has replaced a few pneumatic pumps and it is somewhat better. However, on the hwy when going up an incline or passing, when added power is required, it seems to leave the center vent and again goto the defrost. Not sure what the ultimate fix is... If you find it please let me know! Kent Sterling

How do I get at the blower motor in my 220TE, either to replace or service it?

I am having the same problem and I am still looking for the source of the problem. Did you find out anything?

I have exactly the same problem with my 1991 300TE 4matic.
Did you ever get the problem fixed? Was it a dealer who worked on it or a private shop? I was just about to make an appointment to take mine in. I wasn't sure whether it might be the controler on the dash or the pneumatic actuators for the doors.
Anybody else had the problem? Fixes?
Thanks Bob S

I'm looking at a 300TE that has this same problem. Did you find a cure for the problem? If it's an expensive fix, then I'll pass on the car. If not, then it looks like a good deal.
Thanks,
Charlie

My '89 300TE has a similar problem. On occassion the blower will stop blowing after about 5 minutes, and then start right back up after about 2 minutes. The Heat and A/C work great, but the blower "power" comes and goes. It never just stops though, but blows intermitantly.

Thanks,

David
