March 13 is last day dealers can order 2004 CTS-V. Cars oredered after that will be 2005 model year.

While the above is fact I suspect there are some changes in store for 2005 as they are really launching early. (production was scheduled to start in May which is 2 months earlier than normal)

What are the changes... is the 2005 the 500HP version? When will they be delivered?

I think there would be a lot of angry people if they released a 500 HP verion so soon after releasing the 400 HP version. Also, does the 05 Corvette even have a 500HP option? Would GM let the Caddy have more HP than the Vette? I for one would probably trade up to an 05 if they made such a drastic change. Eric

First the ZO6-7 motor is still being built/tested.Second no one knows if it will be 500hp, third no one said caddy will put that motor in the CTSV. Caddy may reserve that motor for a larger V series car.Fourth they would need a transmission and rear that can handle 500hp in a 4000lb car. Not saying it can't happen, just dobt it for 05.

It makes sense though that they will replace the LS6. They aren't making Z06s anymore so they lose out on production costs in terms of economies of scale. I wouldn't be surprised to see the 6.0L LS2 motor installed.

While the system is not actually allowing the orders to be entered yet, the information is there. Still LS6 engine, still six-speed manual only. The stealth gray, a little darker than the silver smoke 42U on the regular CTS. The gray paint code is 46U. The only options are the sunroof and engine block heater(which is still on production constraint for the 04's).

The production will start the third week of May. Normal lag time for inspection and shipping should be a few days to a few weeks depending on how close to Michigan. We had the third one built Monday, I called GM and explained that the car had been placed as a stock order, was now sold, and could they help. We got the car in today. This will vary, since we are close to the plant, in terms of transit. They truck straight to us. No 500 hp according to current information. Only confirmed is addtl. color available.
