Picked up our SRX recently. V8 AWD, Silver/Ebony interior, with magnetic ride control (+ DVD NAV, Xenon HID, Bose, ultraview and 3rd row seat). Like some of the reviews have said, its amazing how well this 4 1/2 thousand lb. vehicle handles in the turns. DOHC 4.6 V8 is very refined; better than the SC400 I used to drive. I went over every inch of this vehicle and the fit and finish, panel alignment, etc. are outstanding.

We've only got about 400 miles on it so far. I'll have to report back once its broken in and I've had a chance to drive it for a while.

Congratulations on the new SRX; sounds nice. You certainly seem to have gotten all the options. The ultraview sunroof seems especially nice, and the nav with voice cues. Also interested to hear how the mileage is on the SRX V8 in the real world.bruce

...that the SRX V8 is more refined than the 4 liter in the SC400. This is not to be believed, the 4 liter Lexus V8 is a s butter smooth as they come.

I have to agree. I have a 2004 SRX (V8, AWD) and an SC400. Even with 180,000 miles on the SC, the engine is extremely smooth (and still doesn't burn a drop of oil!).

I just bought a 2004 SRX. I am very happy with it but I noticed that when you put it into driver it hesitates for a second before going into drive. I really notice it when going from reverse to drive. I brought it into the dealership to have it looked at. They said this was normal. Is that true? Can another owner verify?
