My brake pad light came on recently, so I need to get my brake pads changed.

Can anybody recomment some good shops that work on BMW's? Or is this not really a critical issue and I can just go any brake shop.

Priority would be:

1. honesty
2. quality
3. pricing

hopefully all three of course.

Car: 1999 328i E46

Thanks!

Didn't have brakes done, but he's honest and does good work. He's in Carmichael. Peter is at 944-4491. A co-worker had 3 BMW's and took all his cars there for service. Guess that says something about his work.

Ted (the owner) is a great person to work with and he knows his stuff. Small shop...great attention to detail...prices are more than fair. I won't take mine anywhere else.

Do they only work on BMWs?

$150 worth of parts (pads, rotors, a can of WD40 and a can of brake cleaner), and about 1 1/2 hour working in a driveway. Straight forward job you might consider taking on, if not for saving the money then for the feeling of accomplishment. If you are not mechanically inclined, probably best to pay someone to do it. But I would recommend giving it a shot; did mine two weeks ago. Just my $0.02.
