I am getting ready to change the oil in my '95 S4. I just purchased a filter from JAE...what viscosity Mobil 1 should I use? Also, how many quarts?

Thanks.

Paul.

I also have a 95 S4 and my mechanic put in Mobil1 15W-50. Esprit Fact File says 5W-50 if you're using Mobil1, but it varies by brand:

They also quote 6.7 quarts, which seems like alot. One thing for sure, you don't want to overfill.

A-ha, I missed this bit before....
Esprit Fact File says:

"You may have problems finding some of the brands or viscosities in your particular market. In the USA, many owners (myself included) choose to use Mobil 1 RS 15W/50."

My mechanic said that he actually carried the obscure 5W/50 but that he didn't put it in because it was hideously expensive, like $22/qt, and he didn't think it would make much difference.
