Well,

It only took 4 hours for my daughter to drop a house key down the inside of the drivers window. Any suggestions on its removal?

I'm not near the car right now so I can't check the doors, but this might help:

Note that those instructions are not for a V8, but they are for a later 4-cyl Esprit so they may be of help to you. Also, try this link and look for a photo album which shows some pictures of a '99 V8's door panel removed:

Use a flat stick (measuring stick) with a well-taped magnet on the end.
