I HAVE HAD MY SHARE OF PROBLEMS WITH THE 240D CHEVY CONVERSION .
AFTER MUCH WORK AND RE-ENGINEERING OF PARTS , WE ARE AT LAST ON
THE ROAD AGAIN . ( JUST IN TIME FOR AIR CONDITIONING SEASON )
WE ALSO JUST INSTALLED A WEBASTO BIG SKY SUNROOF . THIS IS FULLY
ELECTRIC AND MEASURES 32 x 44 INCHES !
WE ALSO INSTALLED A NOS SET OF BOSCH EURO HEADLIGHTS .
IT IS GOING TO BE A GREAT SUMMER .
WITH 260 HORSES AND A .64 TO 1 5th GEAR , WE ARE DEFINATELY GOING PLACES .

MY 5 SPEED SWAP INVOLVED A LOT MORE THAN JUST THE TRANNY .
IT STANDS TO REASON . A FEW 240Ds WERE SENT OVER WITH 4 SPEEDS .
YOU CAN PROBABLY GET A LOT OF WHAT YOU NEED FROM ONE OF THOSE .
( FLYWHEEL , SHIFTER , CLUTCH RELATED PARTS , FLUID RESEVOIR )
THEY DID MAKE A 5 SPEED TRANNY FOR THE 123 BUT FORGOT TO SEND THEM HERE . MOST LIKELY , THERE IS ANOTHER TRANNY FROM A LATER CAR THAT CAN WORK .
5 SPEED CONVERSIONS ARE COMMONLY DONE ON BMW 2002s USING A LATER
320i TRANNY . ONE THING TO CONSIDER IS THE SPEEDOMETER CABLE SINCE
A LOT OF LATER CARS HAVE ELECTRONIC SPEEDOMETERS WITHOUT CABLES .
