Can someone help me I have a C230 Kompressor and this morning Sunday my oil lamp indicated that I need a quart of oil, but in my manual I don't see what type of oil to buy and put in. Does anyone know what type of oil I should use. Thanks

Long answer

Any oil that meets the mercecdes spec 229.5
(choose viscosity acording to your climate 0w-40 is pretty universial)

See that attached link.

Go to the sections about 229.5 for other oils that can be used.

Note: not any mobil 1 is approved, in fact most are not but the 0W-40 is approved.

Its interesting to note that the first fill on the AMG models is the mobil 1 0W-40 (see bottom of linked page). How much more of a reccomendation do you need.

Good Luck

I have a 2001 Kmpressor with 36,000 miles on it. Seems the alrm has a moind of it's own now and goes off without any provocation. Does this mean that my battery is going dead? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, it could be the air vents on the dashboard left open - try it with them closed when parked.
