I just bought a 1999 C230 with 50K, the car runs great and it is as fast as C280 that I tested.
My question is that I notice on the Hot day with the city driving the temperature gauge will move up from the middle to 2/3 range, but it does no go all the way to 120(overheat range). Is this normal with C230 Krompressor? If not, what should I be looking at ?

It happens to me when I am in stop-n-go traffic. I never worry about it as long as its not in the red zone.

Engine off, "fling" the fan blades with your fingertips. The fan should be stiff when hot, freewheel or nearly so when cold.
