Ha! I knew it. This means whenever the One makes its debut in the US in whatever form, it will very likely have inline 6s powering it.

I'm sure someone will stuck the all-new V-10 to the 1-series body..
Remember that even the V-12 was shoehorned into the E36 Compact, a car which was shorter, narrower and lower than the 1er.

And in case the BMW doesn't make any six-cylindre versions pretty soon, there's gonna be aftermarket I-6 conversions. Perhaps the new 258BHP 3.0L but in turbocharged form (say 400+BHP) would give 1-series the kind of power its chassis begs!
