Tehy tell me I'll finally get my car back today. Took the car to the dealer a week ago Monday for an inspection, oil change and to have them investigate wtf is goin on with the clutch and shifter.

I kept having trouble getting the car in gear or out of gear depending on what or where I was at the time shortly after getting in the car and driving.

After $1322, including a turbo timer install, oil change, rerouting a vent hose in the dash (that was misguided after an alarm install from the previous owner), welding a cracked muffler bracket, and a couple other small fixits, the dealer told me they couldn't duplicate the shifting problem I had encountered several times.

So, I paid and drove away, with a smile.

Then I got stuck.

Again, the car was not shifting in or out of gears, in fact, I was stuck in first. I blasted along into a Walmart parking lot.

From there, I called the dealer again and told them I was stuck and I'd appreciate their help. Thankfully, the head tech was there. He drove out the dealer's nice flatbed tow truck, picked up me and the Lotus and took us back to the dealer where they loaned me a 2003 VW Passat and sent me on my way for the holiday weekend.

So, we discussed and decided that the slave cylinder and master cylinder would both be replaced. They had the parts overnighted and told me this afternoon I should be driving my Lotus, finally.

We'll see.

I'll keep you posted.

Both slave and master were replaced, cost $758 for everything and The car drives magnificently now. I also went to Discount tire and bought 2 new Dunlop SP 9000 tires for the front. The tire purchase and mount was another $330 or so.

I'm happy and ready to fly!!!!!!!!

I have thankfully had almost no problems with mine. Any time I have a bad day or week, it just takes a few minutes of driving the car to wipe away any stress. :-)
