The collection includes MINI, Rolls Royce, and some of BMWs more recent aircraft by Gulfstream and Boeing. There are also several BMW powered cars (formula cars, Range Rover, Morgan).

Most of the models are in a spare bedroom of my house. Less than a dozen have made it to the first floor of the house, so there is plenty of room to live.

much smaller (about 400) and have had to sell some due to lack of space.

Have run out of space for 1:1 BMW's too! (two 2002's and two e30's, plus parts thereof...).

BTW, your Malaga '02 looks sweet!****** background=>

That is the craziest collection I've ever seen! Do you have any E30 M3's?

08-24-2004, 06:46 PM
Very nice,

I'd like to see BMW do some of the classic motorsport cars in 1/12. Any duplicate E-30 M3's you (or anyone else) want to part with?

She knew about the models before we married:)

Here are a few of my M3s:

Two things. First its obvious you have an understanding wife, cause the toilet seat is up.... Second, could you tell me where you get your cases to display your models? Thanks

my bank account is glad they don't. Very expensive, and they seem to make only new convertibles.

I really don't really have many dups, but if I come across any M3s I already have, I'll let you know.

If people are intersted, we could do a group buy on these bad boys.

How did you hang the models on the wall? Wire? Nails? Hooks?

08-25-2004, 11:48 AM
I get non-maring hooks and nails made by OOK, at Home Depot. They use a thin nail that can be pushed through drywall like a thumbtack. Most 1:18 suspension pieces are strong enough to attach the hook and nail, then just push the car onto the wall. They only leave a tiny pinhole if you remove the hooks.

I'm primarily a large-scale plastic kit builder, so I pass on most of the items you have. My eyes are getting too bad to do anything under 1/24 scale ... unless somebody wants to make me a great deal on one of those 1/43 Jemmpy E28 M5 kits.

I track them as 'built' or 'unbuilt' in a couple of Lotus spreadsheets. You *do* have a separate insurance rider for them, don't you? Doesn't take a lot of heat to reduce the whole collection to ... well, you know. =8^0--

then go back to it any time your girlfriend/wife gives you a dirty look for stopping in the toy store to see if they have any new diecast bimmers in stock. Just tell her that "one little car can't hurt......its not like I'm this guy"

Damn, that's an awesome collection.

I've been trying to find a plastic model kit of a late generation BMW myself. Was hoping to find an e46 or M3 but no such luck. Know anywhere I can get my hands on a plastic model kit?

Same experience here with Collier and Techcom Global. A lot of UNFULFILLED Promises!

But you had to know he was not an authorized distributor - not many people selling Nikes are; that should not be a surprise

I have a BMW M3 GTR diecast that came in a BMW black box. The car is blue. The box says streetversion limited edition of 3000.
Does anyone know about these or how much money it might be worth. Its still in the box and was only opened to look at once or twice.

I believe I have the same 1/8th scale model of the BMW 3.0 CSL Batmobile. It's 15 inches long. Also have a framed jigsaw puzzle of the car. I used to own a real CSL-miss it. Trying to remember what brand model that it is?? The hood, trunk and doors open. The steering and suspension work. Some glue has worn out as it's been in storage since 1982 or so and I just stumbled across it. Is that the same model you have?
