For those that have had the engine bearing recall done already, do you notice that your engine feels and sounds slightly different?

Before the recall my engine felt a lot smoother and free-reving. After the recall my engine feels like there is a lot more resistance (almost friction) and it sounds slightly different as well.

Is this normal? Does the engine just need to be broken in again to make it feel smooth and free-reving?

I am just a bit worried because the engine felt excellent before the recall.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

although we are only talking 50 miles, it does feel smoother - but then again my car always felt a bit Jekyl and Hyde like - some days it felt smooth and others it felt rough.

Since I got it back from the SA it has only felt smooth and throttle response feels as good as ever if not better, but that could just be wishfull thinking!

The engine seems as willing, or more willing, than ever to rev. I'd almost swear the throttle was more sensitive, too - initially, I assumed this was due to having driven a Dodge Ram for a few days while the car was at the dealer, but it's been a while - and the M strikes me as a bit different now, in a good way.

If I was betting dinner, I'd say I'm imagining things. If I was betting drinks, I'd say my throttle is a wee bit more sensitive.

My engine feels tighter than it used to be when cold, and there's a vibration at 2500 rpm. I just checked the oil and it is WAY overfilled, which used to be a common occurance, but I thought the techs knew better by now. I really don't have time for this crap; my dealer is 50 minutes away, and I can't take any more time off work to bring it back.
10/01 Jet Black SMG coupe, New Jersey, exit 50B

My engine was running fine before the last sevice action, but after I noticed a couple of misfires and some low frequency noises going up a hill. The service engine soon light came on and the dealer says my cats need replacement. I have a bad feeling about this engine. I think a new one is in the cards.
