Has anyone driven the 420 SEL in the snow? Any advice aside from getting 4 snow tires? Am I just asking for trouble?

i have a 300sd w126 and it's fine in the snow. just use the lowest gear possible and go slow if it's really slick (no matter what you drive!)

Trouble I was having is trying to drive slow. There was just enough brake pressure on the front wheels to keep them stopped but the engine was too strong at idle and so the rear wheels would spin. This would happen when trying to park on the street.

You let go of the brake and the rear would slide around.1988 735i 210k

You will have no problem driving your 420 in the snow.. I have done it many on times with my 420.. When I did, the car had summer tires on it & i never had any problems.. Just take it easy, the car will do the rest..
