I recently purchased a used 99 CLK 320 and the check engine light has come on. (The gas cap is secured!)Approx 67,000 miles. The car seems to be running fine. Any ideas on what this could be.

Had the same problem and the only problem with our car in all it's years. We had to take it back several times. It was the Oxgen sensor/s It cost us over 1k for them to figure it out. I think we replaced both of them. Never had the problem again. Also will never take the car back to that dealer again. They sucked!

I have a 99 clk 430... If you top off the gas tank with a few extra clicks, it will always give you a check engine light... Perhaps it's the same with the 320???

I just recently purchased a 99 CLK too and right after I filled my gas tank up the check engine light came on. I figured it was one of the censors because this happened to me with another car of mine. Any insight would be helpful!

I had my check engine light come on and off for over a year. It
was a loose gas cap. If you look on your gas cap it will tell you
that. After you tank up, Make sure to twist gas cap on tight. It
solved my problem, and it may solve yours. I hope this can help someone.
