All of a sudden, I have seen many late model Esprit's coming up for sale. I have been considering one for a while to replace my recently sold BMW 850. There are numerous 2002-04 cars for sale, most still holding the $65k plus range... Is there concern about depreciation if the new version ever comes up? Or are oweners moving to Ferrari etc? I am between a 2002-04 esprit and a F355 myself... Help me decide!

Thanks

Buy the Esprit if you can still get an 04.
There are only 65 04's that exist and after this they will not be built. Going to run about 95K is you can still get a new one. Awesome auto couldn't be happier.

My 93.5 sold for $85,000 in 94. I bought it for $29,000 (and that was probably too high) in 04.

Early model V8s (97, 98 and 99) are now almost the same price as late 4-pots -- I've seen V8s for sale in the high 30s/low 40s.

The newest V8s are holding fairly steady in the $65k range. However, they will drop like rocks shortly when/if the new model comes out (and honestly even if it doesn't). Esprits do not hold value. Don't buy the car for its dollar value, buy it because you love driving it.

My best guess on Esprit prices in 07, which is probably the earliest we will see a new Esprit:

02-04 V8s: $55 to $65k
00 - 02 V8s: $40 to $50k
97-99 V8s: $30k to $40k
S4: $20k to $30k
SE: $10k to $20k

S4s and Sport 300 or 350 will always bring a premium.
