My father and I just picked up a 2004 XJ8 for my mother(its a christmas present). He managed to get a really good deal on it, 20,000 miles, 2004 for $38,000, but the car has no floormats in it. I called the local dealer and was told they cost $280 for the set, which seems high, espically considering that the floor mats I got for my dad's '97 740iL we only $129 a year ago. the question is, is the pricae the dealer gave me consistant with nation-wide prices, and if it is, are there any places you can get them for less?

Did you ever find reasonably priced factory floormats? I bought a 1999 XJ8, immaculate but no driver's mat.

Perhaps it's possible to order front mats only, which might save you a couple more bucks? Try Coventry West. I bought a set of four 04-XJ mats locally for my 04-VDP last fall, and the price Jeff mentioned seemed in line or a little better than what I paid (I was paying in CDN$). If you're suffering a little sticker shock, get a quote for VDP floor mats some time.

We did eventually find some mats, for the life of me i cant remember where we got them, the color is just a hair off, difficult to notice in anything but bright sun, cost was about $120. give me a day or two and i might be able to dig up the recipt to figure out where i got them from.

I just bought a 2005 XJ8L, and the mats were a bit worn. I called my local dealer, Chesapeake Jaguar in Baltimore, and they quoted $190 for a new set. Their number is (410) 666-6000.
Hope it helps,

P.S. Of course, you COULD opt for the Lamb's Wool VDP mats for a cool $600/set!!! Even the parts guy found that funny!
