Is it just me, or does this SATURN look pretty good? Saw it on the Z4 board. Has styling elements of an Elise, Corvette, and Porsche. Regardless of performance, it seems that SATURN, of all manufacturers, is beating BMW at car styling, even if it is just a composite of other cars...

First of all, I must say that the Saturn Sky looks pretty damn nice. Definitely some elements of the Opel Speedster & Lotus Elise (and some S2000 mixed in), but very clean lines, nice proportions, just enough creasing and bulging in all the right places. Bangle, if you are listening, find out who designed this car, and give him or her a job at BMW.

Secondly, here is my sad prediction... Call me pessimistic, but I predict GM/Saturn will f*ck up this car by the time it gets to production. Saturn, if you are listening, I would buy this car as-is for my girlfriend, so please don't mess this one up. As is, the car really does look great, with nice clean lines, terrific interior. Even the wheels complement the car nicely.

But, sadly, I predict the worst for this car. It's a Saturn. That's GM, guys... That means that those nice beefy wheels will be replaced by some crappy overly-busy, smaller, typical GM cheap-looking rims. The interior most certainly will become more busy and cheap-looking when it reaches production. The exterior/interior color choices will be disappointing, and those annoying primary red Saturn badges will probably be EVEN LARGER when the car goes into production. Mark my words on this... ///M Guy has spoken.

p.s. - If I may make a suggestion ot those at Saturn. Lost the red background for the emblem. It's an eyesore, and makes your cars look dated. That's fine for a minivan, but this is supposed to be a sports car. Try a metallic color background, such as a brushed aluminum against the chrome. At the very least, shrink all of the badging down in size by 50%. Car recognition does not rely on badging when you have a design as nice as the Sky. My .02...

How the Saturn Sky is shown is how it will end up for production. Seriously.

Pontiac Solstice? Looks pretty cool. I wonder if it'll have the performance to back up the looks ...
