Move the shifter to "D" then pull it to the left. Each pull to the left downshifts one gear and you'll see it on the dash readout.Randy

It is what is sometimes called a tiptronic tranny. Tap it to the left and it downshifts one gear. The gear you are in will show on the dashboard. If you hold it to the left (instead of tapping), as long as you are going slow enough, it will downshift all the way to the lowest gear. In lower gears, tapping it to the right upshifts one gear and holding it to the right upshifts all the way to DRIVE.
You should buy an owner's manual for the car. There are a lot of things you should know about the car that aren't obvious. R.Alsatian
