I had just got a wonderful 1985 300D I was on my way home with it going down the highway at 70 MPH and turning 30 on the tach
it seems like it need anouther gear..or am I just not going into highway gear... or at 70 MPH is 30 on the tach normal ??

3000rpm is not un common for 70 with every thing in good shape the revs might drop alittle mine runs near 2700-2800rpm at 70 for the car to reach over a 100 mph the motor revs at around 4200 rpm only do that when it is realy warm fresh oil and the car has been gone over thoroughly also depending on the miliage of the car a good long 2-4 hour drive at high speed does wounders for this car
