400hp cars are becoming nothing special. Lots of Z06s were made from 2002-2004 (many thousands). The Z06 may hold its value a bit better than other C5's, but any dreams about appreciation like mid-years are just pipe-dreams, IMO. Every 2003 has special 50th Aniversary insignias on it, so that's nothing special. The Anniversary package (paint, wheels, etc.) was not available on the Z06. The only C5-Z06 that might be worth a little more, someday, is the 2004 with the carbon fiber hood.

Regarding whether the $39K car is a good value... don't know. It depends how it was treated for those 3,000 miles. $39K is top dollar, considering many '04 Z06s were selling for $45K brand new.

If I were spending $39K I'd throw in a few more $K and get a C6. The C5-Z06 has some advantages in power and handling (and lack of silly electronics), but the C6 is overall a better car. BTW, we own an '03 Z06, so I'm not just speculating on some of these points.
