Choosing between inside windshield vs on front plate "transponder"...

Against the usual inside device are comments such as ugly white thing in windshield, has to go below not behind the tint to work. Also - my Valentine is very near where the inside tag would go - has that been a functional problem?

Against the plate mount gets are reports it getscrunched easily and I'm not sure from the photos that the plate mount is a better look anyway. What have you found using one or the other?

Also - does anyone know about getting nailed for speed [except for going fast thru the booth] using EZ Pass?

I use windshield mounts with black tape on the back. I've been able to mount them at thevery top of the window with no problems.

My previous car had a tinted windshield so i was forced to get the license plate mounted EZPass badge. I now use it on my current car which is a convertible and I actually prefer the license plate mount as I don't want to give any extra temptations for somebody to reach inside my car while parked with the top down. The only down side of the license plate mounted variety is that you need to leave more space between you and the car ahead of you while passing through the EZPass booth. Sometimes, the tag doesn't get detected if I am too close and the gate will not open (yes, there are still a few tolls with gates).

Also, watch your speed. I have gotten letters from EZPass in the past identifying my speed through the Tappan Zee Bridge toll plaza and threatening to revoke my EZPass privelages and/or issue fines if it happens again.
