We just redid the whole front of the engine as oil separator behind timing chain gave out and now this fault 33 is continuosly coming back and always there. Engine idles a little rough and is hard to start when warm, cranks over but does not start. After several attempts it will start. When driving all is good.

Hi - Was wondering if somebody could help with this issue. There was a recent electircal issue(shorted while switching battery) on my 2001 740i and i had to switch the DME out. There still seems to be some electrical issues which I would like to fix and need some input on where to start.

The drivers and passenger front door locks do not go down when I use the KEY FOB. The car does lock and the alarm goes on if i try ot open the door but hte locks do nto physically go down. And the power mirrors on both the driver and passenger side do not work. There is not motor noise either.

Should I start with the fuses ? If the fuses look ok what else shoul I check ?

Any help would be useful. Thanks in advance

My 98 740iL just got a working LCM and I am getting a 'Check Brake Fluid Level" notice. The reservoir is full and the probe's floating ring comes to the top of the shaft so it should not toss a code. Looking at the connector it's kind of odd I thought. Two wires in and a single wire inside the connecter making a loop. The socket on the probe has what looks like three small spikes that would contact the loop. I can manually raise the float ring to the top but I still get a warning. Anyone got an idea how this probe actually reads the fluid level?

I did notice that the reservoir and probe are made by Lucas, so.........
