Re: Power seat recline problems
Re: Power seat recline problems Thanks for the reply. I looked under the seat and could not find a cable. It appears that the seat recline is driven by a flexible drive shaft. Could you please send along a url that discusses replacing this? Also, are these M5 specific parts or are they common to all E34s? Thanks Joe 91 M5
Re: Power seat recline problems It is a cable and is a common problem. You can either change the cable with a new one from bmw or re crimp the old one. Over time the crimps on these cables don'thold and if you re crimp these they should hold. You can find detailed info on the fix if you search the web.
Power seat recline problems I am having trouble with the power seat recline in my 91 M5. It appears that on both front seats, the in board recline mechanism does not move causing the seat to twist. The recline mechanisms seem to work when the seat is reclined, but not when the seat is being brought more upright. Now I have the passenger seat stuck at full recline. Is there something common between the operating mechanisms for both front seats that have caused the in board recline mechanisms to not work? I am think there may be an electrical problem here, not mechanical. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Joe
