Dealer Program Option All my BMWs (and MINIs) are set to have no daylight running lights. Takes 5 minutes at the Dealer. I also have my key (key specific option) programed to unlock all doors on first click, for all cars.. . .<b><font Alpine><color <Gray> <Size 3>... NEXT ONE is 1 of 150</b>
Dealer Program Option
Re: Yes car will be driven. I bought my Z8 from the US and had to adjust the car to the Canadian Spec's that required the day light system. It is a program that my dealer ran that converted the Miles into KM and got the lights to go on all the time. The problem that I incurred is that the Zenon lights went on with the dash lights and the trear lights which was not supposed to happen. My dealer communicated with H.O and they advised me that this was the only way that this would work so I decided to kill it and go back to the US version. In my humble opinion, this may not be a fuse issue but a program which the dealer can help you with. Good luck KG

Yes car will be driven. Everything should have a fuse, but sure can't find one to kill the lights. <table><caption align="bottom">Chandler, AZ<caption><tr><td><img src="http://members.roadfly.com/orcatek/signature.jpg" alt="1997 840Ci Alpine White/Parchment 2003 Z4 Maldives Blue/Black"></td></tr></table>

I concur DRL option is set by the dealer. My dealers have always asked my preference before taking delivery of other BMWs. Does your "project" require that the vehicle have power? You can always disconnect the battery while you're working. However, I'm sure you've already thought of that.
I concur
The fact that you can have them turned on is in the manual but it appears it is a dealer performed option. I do not know of anyone who has done this without the dealer. I used to have this turned on myself but I did not like the fact that ALL of the lights were on 24/7 when driving. It never made sense to me that the actual headlamps were on along with all the running lights, etc. I would have thought for "daytime use" that the low voltage lights in the front along with the parking lights would be all that are on but alas, not the case. I had my dealer investigate and apparently, they are either on or off completely and at this time only a dealer has the software to reprogram the processor.
The fact that you can have them turned on is in
I wasn't aware they could be set to 'always on' so can't help, but the manual should have something about that? The chat is here; Z8 images & info http:www.bmwz8.us

Help needed with lights and fuses My car has daytime running lights active, so there is no way to turn off the lights. Unfortunatley I need to turn them off for a project I am working on. I had been thru both fuse boxes (glove box and behind passenger seat) pulling anything that had to do with headlights or lighting control, but the lights just won't go off. Anyone know the trick to getting them off. I really don't have time to go to the dealer and get reprogrammed. <table><caption align="bottom">Chandler, AZ<caption><tr><td><img src="http://members.roadfly.com/orcatek/signature.jpg" alt="1997 840Ci Alpine White/Parchment 2003 Z4 Maldives Blue/Black"></td></tr></table>
