I'll drink to the open air
Flexs on me too. I mounted it in front of the roll hoops and it doesn't touch anything there. Works good though, but I do need to get the ocillation under control at certain speeds too. I may add a strip of lexan on the bottom to better brace it.

The OEM one, not the Lexan
mine lifted off at 85mph! ...and started to take the soft-top cover (what's that thing called?) with it. Anyone know how I can keep these on at high speed? I suppose I can live without the wind blocker but the damn soft top cover seems to come up in the middle at very unfortunate (and potentially scary) moments. The thing only snaps on each side. Why no snap in the middle?? Seems poorly engineered.

getting flexing in the Lexan I bought the clear wind baffle, and love the new found visibility...however, I'm getting significant flexing in the center portion that is causing a rubbing on the leather where the bottom edge of the baffle sits. The Z8 version is supposed to be thicker than the standard baffles- does anyone else have this baffle? this flexing? what is your lexan thickness? Thanks!!

Yep, easy on/off - But I'm keeping it on 6 Velcro straps and a safety tether. Couldn't be easier. It would fit easily in the trunk, but you shouldn't have to. The only time I plan to take it off is if I ever get around to putting the hardtop on. I know the weather here is so due to go bad, and do it with a vengeance, that the salt will fly and the Z will go to bed for winters hibernation until the spring rains wash the salt away.
Yep, easy on/off - But I'm keeping it on
OT: Are you still coming to SF ???..... I haven't heard from you lately. E-mail me or post your local contact info. I'm still planning a drive down the coast to SLO area, where we'll meet up with Macfly. I need to hear from you to keep the dates open. Ian [email protected]

Will it fit in the trunk?....Is it..
Re: a great new wind blocker..... I put it on the front for several reasons: The closer it is to the back of my head, the less wind on it pushing forward... Security. I'm tall and have the seat all the way back. The headrests just touch the lexan, so the shield is captured and I don't have to worry about it flying off and being destroyed or destroying the paint. I also have the tight interference between the net baffle and the convertible top. By having in front, there is no interference with the headliner. I do love the look and the outward views so much better than that net. Absolutely money well spent for me. -JB
Re: a great new wind blocker.....
Re: a great new wind blocker..... I think the blocker should be on the outer side of the roll hoops. Because the wind pushes the blocker from the back.

no, this was sent in by another owner, the wind never really bothered me, but then I only use the car on perfect recrational driving days, and I like the 'open air' feeling. The chat is here; Z8 images & info http:www.bmwz8.us <img src="http://members.roadfly.com/macfly/avatar.jpg">
