Crap - where is everybody? Well - I got into BMW F1 when Montoya and Ralph were there and I got hooked... so now I follow Montoya at Mclaren and ralph at toyota...but because of the rivalry with MSC I am into what ferrari are doing etc. but this boards has gone bone dry...any good discussions eleswhere?
Crap - where is everybody?
Re: F1 Season Is On I would have to agree with that assessment... although I wish we could say better things. All I hope is that BMW is able to make progress this year, especially with the engine. I hope they don't continue the Williams tradition of not getting it right until the last two races of the year.
Re: F1 Season Is On
Re: F1 Season Is On Right now, I wouldn't rate BWM as any better than tied for 6th with Red Bull. Renault, McLaren, Ferrari, Honda, and Williams all look superior, and I see no evidence that the BMW motor has more power. One decent journeyman in Hiefeld and one past-his-prime former star in JV. Probably won't do better than a 5th place all season. A podium would be amazing and a win a miracle (but I hear it will rain in Sepang). At least we're better than Toyota :)
F1 Season Is On With a less than brillant debut, the BMW Sauber F1 team obviously has work to do. JV's unfortunate blowup means a fresh motor for Sepang, which could be an advantage if they found the reason for his Dubai retirement. The Speed broadcast failed to catch Heidfeld getting turned around by Nico Rosberg in the T2 area on Lap 1. The resulting stop put him a lap down and out of sequence. I think both cars are capable of finishes in the lower half of the top ten for the next two races, but clearly need some development to be in any sort of contention when F1 returns to Europe.
