Re: Had a ball, Dave! We'll have to get you in on...

Most definately - been tryin with e60 & e63 folks to do something in FLA and have gotten nowhere. Especially if you have some regular meets then it is easier to jump in when available and not have to check 99 calendars. And I can pass along the word on the boards I participate. Many thanks.

Had a ball, Dave! We'll have to get you in on...

some get togethers here in Florida. A bunch of e28 guys (Parks and Adrian among them) usually get together every month or so at the Yalaha Bakery - if you've never been there, it's like a slice of Bavaria dropped in near Clermont. We need to get you & Al to come along for some beer & brats. Also, there's a local group (brevardmotorsports.org) that gets together every Thursday night in Melbourne. I like to cruise up there to break up the rice. :) They're a good bunch of mostly younger folks who do have an appreciation for the Roundel. It was great meeting you at SESF. Looking forward to getting together soon...

    Re: Southeast Sharkfest 2006

Hey, all u e63/64ers go on over to the e24 board at take a look see at the great fun had at Sharkfest 2006. GREAT bunch of people, really a family atmosphere, the cars are all treated like family members :). The four of us (2-e63 & 2-e64s) had a blast mixing and matching with teh e24 crowd.

Here is a thread to get u started, it has most of the pics:
    http://bimmer.roadfly.com/bmw/forums/e24/7720906-1.html

There are other threads as well including some on the "worthiness" of the e63/e64 being called a "shark". PLEASE DO NOT take offense. It is passoniate people talking about their passion for their cars and done in a non-hostile manner. In fact I rather enjoy the banter back and forth.

Anyway, keep you calendars open for next year. Will be in or around Ashville, NC with one of the key attractions being driving the Tail of the Dragon, 318 curves in 11 miles! April 20-22. Once the organizers have settled on more specifics there will be a web site and notices here. I would highly recommend attendance at thhis wonderful event. You WILL make life long friends with many interests beyong JUST BMWs (can that be?)

It was great to see E6x cars there! >>

We all also enjoyed seeing the new M6 that the folks at BMW arranged to have on-site. The nice BMW folks let one of the event-founders get in and rev it a little once it warmed up. Sounds awesome!

Re: Looking fwd to seeing all of you e63/4's there!

Yep, I'll be there. Not sure of my caravan buddies yet, but I'll be in good company whatever the group is. Been trying for months to get more e63/64 participation, but only the handful or so you see now.

    See u there:)

Looking fwd to seeing all of you e63/4's there!

SESF is always a great event, and this year promises to be the best yet. With the 30 year anniversary of the Sixer and the relocation to the Zentrum, this SESF is going to be a blast. So far, about 130 cars have registered (and about half of the US is represented!), but only a half dozen or so are e6x's. We "alt fahrt's" are looking forward to more participation from our new Sixer brethren. If you haven't felt so up 'til now, you ARE officially invited. Hope to see you there!

    Southeast Sharkfest 2006

Several people from Alabama, Florida and Georgia have registered for the Southeast Sharkfest 2006 in Greenville, SC from may 18-21. It would be nice to put together a group of those attending to drive from Atlanta to Spartanburg. Those interested can meet at the parking lot of the Atlanta Marriott Gwinnett Place, on exit 104 of I-85 at 1:00 PM on Thursday May 18. It's about a two hour drive from there to Greenville/Spartanburg, 130 miles.
